A small studio.
A careful eye.
Jason and Cathy Sobers photograph weddings, portraits and family stories from Barbados. The work is calm, considered and made to last.
Jason — Photographer
I've worked as a professional photographer in Barbados since 2018. I came to weddings the long way around — through portraiture, fashion, and a stubborn obsession with light. The thread through all of it: the small, true moments people don't think to pose for.
I work calmly. I plan obsessively. And I deliver work I'd be proud to hang in my own home.
Cathy — Creative Director
Dr. Cathy Martindale brings the editorial eye and the planning rigour. She shapes every gallery, every album layout, and every client experience — making sure your story is told the way you'd actually tell it.
Together we shoot weddings as a two-person team, which means more angles and more moments, captured.
Good photographs start with attention.
Presence
We give people room to be themselves, stepping in with direction only when it helps.
Craft
Every gallery is edited by hand, with a consistent eye for light, colour and the feeling of the day.
Care
From the first reply to the final gallery, the process stays clear, personal and well looked after.
Professional gear, redundantly carried.
Dual full-frame mirrorless bodies (Nikon), prime lenses for low light, off-camera lighting for receptions, and a complete backup kit on every shoot. Every card is dual-recorded; every gallery is backed up to three locations within 24 hours.
Fully insured, fully accountable.
Public liability and equipment insurance cover every shoot — venue paperwork supplied on request. Registered Barbadian business since 2018. Contracts and retainer secured through transparent, attorney-reviewed agreements.
